It would have been another good opportunity to buy a property in Nice ! Unfortunately, Nice lost the Olympic Games for 2018. Indeed 4 French cities were candidates to represent France in the global competition for Olympic Games in 2018. Annecy has been choosen yesterday. Anyway since the beginning, Nice was the outsider to run for the Olympic Games in 2018.
That’s true that Nice is worlwide known thanks to its climate, its beaches and the mediteranean sea. But there are also many moutains in Nice : the Southern Alps. The mayor of the city insisted during all the competition on the wondeful climate and the amount of snow you can find on the first ski stations. More over, they are located at one hour from Nice city center by car ! So we can wondering ourselves why Nice lost the Olympic Games in 2018.
To be honest, the huge snowing cup of this year is usually infrequent on the Southern Alps. Nice’s candidature was based on this argument and the willing to organise the first green Olympic Games. Nice obtained the 2nd place behind Grenoble, which is much more famous for its moutains and its winter sport equipment than Nice. so the mayor Mr Estrosi and his fans are not that disappointed even if Nice lost the Olympic Games. Indeed, they are thinking in running for Summer Olympic Games in 2024 !
