I read an interview in a French review of Vincent Gregoire from the famous trend setter company Nelly Rodi. He explained that this year the home decoration has been divided into 4 main trends. First one is “disco fever” with a mix of flashy colors and white. The furniture are voluminous and humour is considerable in the home decoration. Slat and Vinyl plastic are back !
On the reverse, the second home decoration trend is based on loft spirit. The property look is closed to the industrial architecture. The colors are strongs with several grey tints on the walls and blue and red furniture. You can add transparency and glamour with a huge crystal chandelier. This typical home decoration is called “urban energy”.
The third home decoration trend deals with sophisticated natural items. This simple and luxurious home decoration is very spread on the French Riviera. Indeed, the objective is to use high quality products which are natural like wood. Colors range from clear white to yellow in a stylish and rustic atmosphere.
Last but not least, the home decoration can be baroque in 2008. You can also use wood but in dark shapes. Plants are the key success to create this exotic home decoration. Colors can be orange, dark green like tropical fruits. A lot of furniture and knick knack from everywhere around the world complete this environment.
To conclude, it seems that home decoration has become less and less realistic. Now, people are looking for a symbolic decoration to escape from reality.
