Indeed, Cannes shopping, these two words fit interestingly one to another. In the category of shopping this is the city of Cannes who wins the Palm this year before Nice, Monte Carlo and Saint Tropez in the PACA region!
The financial crisis … our Russian friends do not experience it, they are lucky!
These recent years we were able to observe the development of a new and trendy type of tourism, the shopping tourism. In the region of PACA, it is worth quoting that 34% of spending made by foreign tourists (European tourists not included) is done in Cannes.
Why Cannes shopping?
One reason could be the fact that this city well organized itself to welcome the Russian tourists. The menus in restaurants have been translated in Russian, the guide and the welcoming hostesses speak Russian and more and more delegates are sent to Russia to sell the destination.
Cannes shopping could become soon Cannes home to these Russian ladies, fan of furs, leather and sexy dresses. They could decide to stay and live in the city to be closer to the luxury fashion boutiques!

Hey, I read the post about marseille, it was really good!! im thinking about going there with a friend on a vacation, we are both students. do u know any affordable, fairly nice place we can go, preferebly in the city, close to the water. we understand that we cant have to high standards, but we dont want it to be to skanky either. do u have any ideas?
Hello Gabriella,
Thank you for the post.
In Marseille, you’re right, it is better to stay on the seaside.
Near the port for a little budget, I advise you to stay in a Ibis hotel, Kyriad or Etap hotel, you have these brands located near the port in Marseille. They are well known in France for not being so expensive.
Then, on the seaside you have hostels such as AJ Marseille Plage.
Enjoy your holidays in Marseille!
